October vacation

We are going to Hawaii for 8 days and 7 nights. We have saved for 7 tickets and rent a 4 bedroom beach house for the entire duration. Why 7 tickets? Well, he are anticipating having two additional children who will be living with us. And, Lemon can be a lap seat because I do not want to buy a ticket for her unless I absolutely have to. And if for whatever reason we only have one additional child with us I suppose Lemon can have that seat or perhaps we will save our miles for another trip later. I will work with the details in a couple of months.

I am blogging because I am SO freaking excited. Every year we let the kids choose where we vacation, Last year Boy child decided Disneyland at Christmas time. Biscuit has chosen Hawaii, this years, and if I play my cards right I can get Bunny’s dream out the way too…she wants to go to the Polar Express here in Arizona. THEN, GUESS WHAT!? Husband and I get to choose the next vacation! Well, if we don’t adopt a child by next year…if we do new kid will get dibs on vacation. THEN we do. Unless we adopt again, haha!

Planning a vacation for a family of 8 is hard!

My boy is seven!

My Boy child is officially seven years old, HOW DID THAT HAPPEN!? I love him. Tomorrow we celebrate, he wants to ride his dirt bike, have cake, and open his presents. Naturally I would do anything he wanted for his birthday so his wish has been granted.

He is so caught up in Minecraft it makes me ill; I simply cannot hear about another victory or whatever you want to call it in Minecraft. I’m excited for a day outdoors. I ordered him some new riding pants but they’ll not be here until next week. BOO HISS! Also, he will be graduating to a new, bigger, dirt bike soon and I am really excited about that. Bunny has called dibs on his old dirt bike, she wants new pink plastics though. A few weeks ago we demoed a new 2014 Yamaha 110, Boy child loved the four speed auto clutch and the easy electric start. Hello, push button start?! Yesss!

In any case, he is seven. in a few weeks Biscuit will be 10. My daughter will be 10 years old…I am starting to feel old.

Remember when I was left hanging on the vaccination hang up on my last post? There is, in fact, a waiver for non vaccinated children. HOWEVER, you will not be able to foster children under the age of five years old. I call buillshit. I mean, c’mon! I’ll happily vaccinate any child who is property of the state because that is what’s required…but to penalize me for not vaccinating my children? It’s crap. I am a little bit offended, I’ll get over it. I have been unable to get ahold of my licensing agent as she is on leave for the moment because I’d like to ask her IF, and its a huge if, I decided to vaccinate what the rules would be then. What if I selectively vaccinate? What if I start the vaccination process in its entirety… will my chances of getting a younger child in our home still be put on hold until they are completely up to date? Or can I be approved as they start?

We have all of our paper work in order, we need our physical paper and I am trying to figure out where to get a copy of my marriage certificate in addition to Lemon’s birth certificate. Lemon’s birth certificate was never issued as we had not been married at the time of her birth, they wanted a DNA sample to list Husband as the father but we had to pay a metric butt ton to get the testing done. Now, they have her father listed as ‘Unknown’ and that sorta stinks for Husband. I don’t want to pay for a birth certificate that says that. However we need to hurry this along, there are children that need us! I want to help so badly but I keep getting hung up on stuff. Why does the state have to make my dream so difficult to achieve?

We are good people, we have passed all of our background checks, and all that jazz. I want to love kids. I want to help our community. I want to be a positive contributor to society. It seems SO far away. I wish this process could be expedited. It’s funny because we were in an expedited class… seems pretty long and drawn out right now.
